Spring to Life
In the changing of seasons, we are reminded of the faithfulness of our God. What He promises to do is always fulfilled. During the cold dark winter months we see nothing but barrenness. The trees are without their leaves and a very few, if any, flowers are present on the landscape. Be not fooled, however, with outward appearances. Below the ground, in even the most severe of winters, new life is getting ready to come forth. Spring speaks to us of renewal, rebirth and regrowth. Its early signs are seen in the buds on the tree, the shoots of brightly coloured spring flowers and the heart-warming sight of lambs playing in the field. Standing on the cusp of spring, I wonder have you ever taken a moment to survey your own life. In the changing of a season you are reminded once again of God’s mercy to you and just like nature will suddenly be transformed in a matter of weeks you too have been granted the opportunity to be forever changed. All this is offered to you in the message of the gospel. The fact that Jesus Christ, the baby of Bethlehem, would one day die on a cross for your sin and mine is a truth that you must be told. By His death, He made a way that you might know complete everlasting transformation. It is the new birth of your soul, a change that happens within but bursts forth without. All this is yours to know if you come to Him acknowledging your need and trusting Him for your soul’s salvation. This spring you can know not only the joy of a new season but the everlasting joy of a new life. Tell me what will your answer be?
